at our next night's lodging. At this point, there may be time for a little exploring on
your own before the evening meal. For those wishing to eat as a group the tour
captain's evening meals will be about 8:00 pm to give you time to freshen up after the
day's ride. This will be typical for the first part of the tour. The last day there
will be breakfast and an early return to the departure point and the end of the tour.

A. We recommend one or two years experience. Some of the mountain road can be

all times. Average distances on our five-day tours will be about 200 to 300 miles per
day.

Q. What will the roads be like?
A. Most roads will be backcountry and mountain; some will be two lanes and
some four lanes. Not very often, but when necessary, limited access Interstate roads
will be used. All roads are paved.

Q. What kind of weather can I expect?
A. We make every effort to schedule tours during the optimum weather months
for each region. Spring and fall can be rather cool in the mountains, and frost is not
out of the question on some early mornings. The mountains are warm and pleasant in the
summer with cool evenings and mornings. Schedules for travel will be rain or shine. If
necessary, tour schedules will be changed to suit conditions. Dress accordingly; you
can always take off extra clothing.
Q. Do I have to ride with the group?
A. These tours are designed to allow you to enjoy each day's ride. At the
beginning of each day, your tour guide will provide each rider with a map of the day's
route and answer any questions you may have. You can choose to either follow his lead
on the planned tour route, or go off on your own and meet up with the group at a later
time that day. After a memorable day of motorcycle touring and American landscape, all
tour members meet at the appointed hotel.
Q. Who can go on the tours?
A. Licensed riders on all makes and models of motorcycles are welcome, but we
ask that all motorcycles comply with state and local laws regarding safety equipment.
It is essential that all riders have sufficient skill and experience to ride long
distances safely in varying weather conditions over a variety of roads. We also
recommend the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Basic and Experienced Rider courses to
increase riding safety and skills.
